West Salem Business Association
July 13, 2016
Meeting called to order at 12:00 p.m. by President Aaron Dienger. After introductions and buffet lunch, the regular meeting commenced. Rebecca Rieber of Lakeview Healthcare Center updated the membership on the construction status, timelines to move patients to the new site, and changes with the facility.
Minutes and Treasurer’s Report
Secretary Teresa Schnitzler’s minutes of the June meeting were distributed, and Treasurer Patty Gjertsen’s Association bank balance report was distributed. The Association bank balance is $4,606.55. Celebrate West Salem bank balance is $1,129.97, flowerpot account balance is $2,789.84, and Winter Wonderland balance is $12.57 after expenses. There are currently 92 paid members. Ms. Gjertsen reported expenses incurred for the flower project include weekend watering of $292.50 and the preparation of the flowerpots billing from Cottage Grove in the amount of $990.00. Odyssey of the Mind contributed $286.87 to the project, and the matching West Salem Schools donation is expected.
Motion by Denise Jones, seconded by Gary Zimmerman to approve the minutes and the treasurer’s report as presented. Motion approved.
President Dienger reported that as part of her senior exhibit project, Brigitte Baker has partnered with Lakeview Healthcare to donate free art work.
Celebrate West Salem
President Dienger reminded the membership that Dan Eoriatti and Eric Bauer have decided to step down after ten years as co-chairs of the annual event. The Board is asking for members willing to step into the role of chair or co-chair of the Celebrate West Salem event.
The annual golf outing is set for Wednesday, August 10, and it will take the place of the normal monthly meeting. Registration is in progress, and a follow-up e-mail as sent with the monthly newsletter. Organizer Pete Ames is asking for golfer gift bags, donated door prizes, and hole sponsors.
La Crosse County Fair Livestock Auction
The Association will bid and purchase a hog to raffle at the annual golf outing.
Spotlight of the Month
Teresa Schnitzler for the Village of West Salem was chosen as the August business of the month.
Motion by Jodie Curtis, seconded by Callie Stanhope to adjourn the meeting at 12:46 p.m.
